Fouling is always costly, and many problems are observed in the industry, like, loss of energy, reduced operation capacity, oversizing and higher maintenance costs. In addition, in some cases, unplanned shutdown can occur as a direct result of heat exchanger fouling.
Despite the best efforts of engineers and technologists to eliminate heat exchanger fouling, the growth of deposits will still occur.
With the KLAREN Technology, heat exchangers can operate up to zero-fouling. The technology can be utilized in all manner of industries and any type of fouling deposits can be effectively handled, whether hard or soft, originating from biological, crystallization, chemical or particulate fouling, or any combination of causes. Additionally, a wide variety of fluids can be effectively handled, ranging from aqueous solutions to oils and even slurries.
To prevent fouling, a fluidized bed of cleaning particles is used at the tube side of the heat exchangers where the fouling liquid flows through. The cleaning particles create a scouring effect on the tube wall surface which removes the developing fouling layer. We have helped various clients worldwide in diverse industries to achieve up to zero-fouling operation.
